FAQ

How does it work?

Agency Malta is a small scale search engine that crawls local marketing agency websites looking for projects and blog posts to index.

My agency isn't listed. How can I fix this?

You can submit your agency website to be listed using the form below. We'll e-mail you when your site is being indexed by Agency Malta.

Keep in mind that for your website to be indexed, there are some requirements for your website's URL structure - the next two questions in the FAQ cover these topics.

Our agency's projects aren't being indexed.

If you've already submitted your agency to be listed, there might be some other issues that are preventing your projects from being indexed. In order for our crawler to correctly identify projects, the URL structure of your website needs to indicate which pages are project pages in some way.

How can I control which part of my agency website gets indexed?

Our crawler goes by the name of AgencyMalta and respects the rules laid out in your robots.txt file. If you don't want certain blog posts or projects indexed by us, simply disallow our bot from indexing those specific pages.

How can I control and improve the indexing of my agency's projects?

The Agency Malta crawler will attempt to extract information from your project page using a variety of methods. Most control is awarded to webmasters who markup their pages with rich data, and is the recommended method to improve the indexing of your agency's projects.

If you don't already have one, adding a sitemap to your website will also improve the indexing on Agency Malta.

Project headline, description and image
Our crawler will initially look for the Creative Work schema markup and will extract headline, description and image data from there. If not found, the crawler will fall back to scraping other tags such as og:title, og:description and og:image respectively.
Services
Our crawler will initially look for the Service schema markup and will extract serviceType data from there. If not found, the crawler will attempt to analyse the text of the page and extract services from there.
Client
Our crawler will initially look for the Organization schema markup tagged as a brand and will extract name data from there. If not found, the crawler will attempt to analyse the text of the page and extract the client name from there.
